During the walking route of 4.7 kilometer you'll see the typical Dutch houses and canals in the historical inner city of Alkmaar. Of course you pass the most interesting listed buildings and greatest landmarks, such as the Great Church, but there is also room for surprising stories. Why have lions turned their back to the coat of arms of Alkmaar? By what was a spinning wheel shattered? Who carries a grill rack and why? You discover it during the city tour All About Alkmaar.

This smartphone city walk is available in English, Dutch, German and Spanish.

Although you can start this walk through Alkmaar at any point, in the app you can choose a number of predefined entry points. One of the entry points is on Canadaplein square, near the train station of Alkmaar (http://www.WalktheCity.eu/All-About-Alkmaar/CS).
